Both surprise and disbelief shook this years UAAP cheer dance competition. Why? For the 1st time University of Santo Tomas failed to roar this year and surprisingly didn’t made it to the top three. University of the Philippines barely made it to the 3rd spot.

It’s the Ateneo De Manila University (2nd place) and Far Eastern University (1st place) who created the “biggest” buzz on today’s competition held yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.

With a yet another “record-breaking” crowd, each fans gave their loudest cheers for their beloved Universities. Though it’s noticeable that after the competition a lot of folks are screaming “LUTO” or “MADAYA” on the four corners of the stadium. Naturally, I guess we can’t prevent that don’t you agree?

So here are the official scores and prices for the said event:

FEU cheering squad received a score of 86.1 – P 225,000 plus Samsung Cell Phones

Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion came in second with a score of 83.4 – P 120,000

Plus a memorable experience each cheerers would never forget.

It’s also worth including that one of the highlights of the said event is the stunning “moonwalk” performance lead by Ateneo. A tribute to the late iconic musical legend Michael Jackson.

Peculiarly UST, which once reigned for five straight seasons from 2002 and had a league-best eight titles, ended up fourth with 81 percent, its worst finish since the cheer dance competition was gestated 15 seasons ago.

This event is truly a incredibly surprising outturn for both the teams who win and to those who did otherwise.
