Actor Maury Chaykin Died

The movie industry has once again wept for the loss of a great actor. Maury Chaykin died on his 61st birthday at the Toronto Hospital due to kidney problems. Chaykin died after his brave fight against kidney problems. He left his wife, actress Sussanah Hoffman and daughter Rose.

He was born to a Canadian mother and an American Father in New York. He had made his way to Toronto where he spent the rest of his life. Maury Chaykin is very much known for his roles in the movies as well as TV shows. His well played roles landed him Genie nominations and had made him won Whale Music in 1994.

He had a made a total of 153 films and television credits. Chaykin had been in series of Atom Egioyan films such as Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter, Blindness, Cooking with Stella and Where the Truth Lies. His accomplishments weren’t just enclosed in the land of the maple leaf since he was known in and out of Canada. Among his countless roles were Major Fambrough in Dances with Wolves, Harvey Weinstein in Entourage and Sam Tipton in My Cousin Vinny.

He also had roles in The Postman, Owning Mahoney, Mystery, Alaska, A Life Less Ordinary and The Adjuster. Chaykin had started his acting career in 1975 allowing him to serve for 35 years in the industry. Among his known TV shows are C.I.I, Boston Legal and the most recent HBO Canadian sitcom Less Than Kind.

Mark McKinney, the producer of the said sitcom had acknowledged the greatness and talent of Chaykin saying that the cast was truly devastated with his death. He also said that the man had an incredible gift.
