Amazon is the biggest shopping online store in the internet, but just like any other store, there is a policy that they should follow no matter what: “The customer is always right”.

And this is what they did by pulling out an e-book for sale that was about pedophiles and how they can go into a relationship with young children without being hated. The sale of this e-book resulted in a lot of customers putting angry comments and threatened to boycott the online store if they do not pull-out the e-book.

The book, entitled “The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover’s Code of Conduct” by Phillip R. Geaves which was on sale at $4.79, was, at first, defended by Amazon saying that it is the author’s right to freedom of speech. But the news on this illegal book had spread all over the internet and angry customers gave comments on Amazon’s page and were serious on boycotting the store.

One customer commented that he/she was about to do his/her Christmas shopping when she saw this book. “Cannot believe Amazon is selling this […] After reviewing it, I have canceled my order form from Amazon and am encouraging all of my friends not to order from Amazon because they are choosing to sell this book.” Most of the customers also said that they would do their Christmas shopping elsewhere and would only go back if the e-book was removed.

In the end, the customers are always the boss. Hours after declaring support for the book and the massive comments, Amazon pulled-out the ebook last Wednesday night. That was the last thing we heard from Amazon as they have yet to make a statement regarding the change of mind.

According to Greaves, his book was written with good intentions because it will give a good light to pedophiles. The book is intended “to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter [sic] sentences should they ever be caught.” He also said that there are true pedophiles that love children and will never hurt them.

When it comes to the sexual aspect, he said there is no such thing as penetration with kids because this cannot be done, but “kissing and fondling I don’t think is that big of a problem”.

After hearing about this, I was quite shocked that Amazon would sell the ebook since molesting children and pedophilia is considered a disorder that should be treated, according to experts. Just because the author had some experience with a pedophile, it does not mean that he can just write about it anytime. I am not surprised by the outrage of customers because I would do the same. I’m glad Amazon pulled it off because it will really put a bad record on their company and might lose a lot of customers.
