During the Australian Open this year, an unexpected event happened; Rafael Nadal quit his quarterfinal match against Andy Murray. This was a deciding factor in the game, and caused Nadal to forfeit the win. Nadal said that his Scottish opponent would do well in the rest of the Grand Slam, and he could possibly win it.

Andy Roddick was another tennis player who played his games in the Australian Open with an injury. He had a shoulder injury, and eventually lost to Marin Cilic. Nadal didn’t want to risk elevating his injury and decided to just quit it while he could still heal. Nadal had a similar incident last year, when he had knee tendinitis and couldn’t win Wimbledon.

Andy Murray will play Marin Cilic for the semifinals, and we will have to see how the match goes. This isn’t the first time that the two have played against each other, the first time being in the U.S. Open. Murray is confident in achieving a little revenge.

Federer is going to play Nikolay Davydenko for the quarterfinals. Henin will play against Zheng Jie, a Wimbeldon semifinalist. Henin had retired in 2008 with the No. 1 ranking, but has just came back during the Australian Open.
