For the third time in eight years and for the fourth time on the whole, Butler is once again on its approach back to the “Sweet 16” of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. The Bulldogs, who were No. 5 in the West Region, made their trip to Salt Lake City, Utah, with a first-round clash over No. 12 UTEP, 77-59, and a second-round triumph over 13 Murray State, 54-52, in San Jose, Calif.

Seeing that approving as Butler has been on the spice and after season, the Bodog.com advances board that does not make the Bulldogs much of an opportunity to win the NCAA Tournament placing them at 35-to-1 odds.

If Butler can get a hand of its battle with Syracuse, it will have a great beat to prevail a national title. Looking ahead, if Butler wins in the regional semi-finals is a match up with the Xavier/Kansas State winner. While both of those teams are all good, Butler is extremely on a par with them. If the Bulldogs make it to the Final Four in their hometown of Indianapolis they would have a bent to face South No. 1 Duke, as long as the Blue Devils grip the business this weekend.
