Immediately responded by firefighters, Jones was extracted out from the car and brought to the Louisiana State University (LSU) hospital. His left leg and ankle were seriously injured and is now under surgery. The hospital station reports that arteries and nerves were exposed and upgraded his condition to critical. There are no other injuries in his body except for the serious wound in his leg.

According to New Orleans police spokeswoman Shereese Harper, Jones, while driving towards Canal Street in his 2010 Range Rover, lost control and smashed into a streetcar pole. Investigation is still awaiting reports whether alcohol was a factor in the accident. The two other companions of the 21-years old NY Giants rookie were not injured according to reports.

Keep him in your prayers.” Jones was a pitcher on LSU baseball team, and ended up a champion in the College World Series 2009. Recently on April, he was drafted on the third round by the New York Giants and signed a 4-year $2.616 million contract.
