Eagles to release Brian Westbrook Due to Injuries

Versatile veteran runner Brian Westbrook’s impending release will finally be over according to latest report, Tuesday. As per latest information, Westbrook combats ankle injuries in recent years. His injury suffered him for eight games last season and since the commencement of year 2009, Westbrook was already showing signs of declining in a game where he definitely excelled. Westbrook suffered those injuries plus two concussions.

Some experts believes that If the once dynamic runner chooses to continue his career, accomplished but declining veteran running backs will be on the limelight again including Willie Parker a free agent,  so is the recently released La Dainian Tomlinson.

The versatile runner became the most feared pass catchers out of the backfield, going over 600 yards receiving four consecutive years, helping open up the rest of the field for typically mediocre talent. In 2007 alone, he led the NFL in yards from scrimmage, and was named first team All Pro.

Despite being only 5’8″, Westbrook was one of the best blockers out of the backfield in the entire NFL. Aside from awaited decision about Westbrook’s comeback, Andy Reid and Jeffrey Lurie are also expected to speak on the matter at 3 p.m. today.
