The mixed martial artist Fedor Emelianenko was defeated by Fabricio Werdum last Saturday Night. It was in the first round that the Russian was knock out at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California during the Strikeforce / M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Werdum event.

Fedor got a wrong move when he jumped into the Brazilians guard and failed to made a position causing his arm and head to be exposed. It was then that Brazilian champ bounced back and locked Fedor with an arm bar. The match referee John McCarthy called the fight off on the first round.

The fight was indeed very quick. The new champ, Fabrico had said that if he would be given the chance, he would want to fight Fedor again. He will now move on to the next fight where more legendary fighters are awaiting him.

It was the first defeat by Fedor in the last ten years.  Fedor had signed a three year contract with strike force last year and had the title of the Sherdog knockout of the year.  In his entire professional career, he had won thirty-two fights.  He has been married to Marina and has two children.  He was also able to have the rack of a black belter master and international master of sports Sambo. Although he attained a lose, he believes that he remains to be an idol for his fans and will try to do better in his next fight.
