Gary Coleman, a former child actor, literally takes a fall. Doctors say he is in critical condition. This is not the first time that the actor who is best known for his stint on TV’s “Diff’rent Strokes” that aired in 1978 to 1986, had health problems.

Ever since he was a child, he has long suffered from kidney problems which he battled until he was growing up. He had two transplants for his kidneys and continues to undergo dialysis.

Also, on the set of the “Insider”, where he was supposed to be interviewed he suffered seizure attacks. This was followed last fall by a surgical operation of his heart as it was complicated by pneumonia.

Coleman, who is Santaquin resident near Salt Lake City, also battled legal woes.

Coleman also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge related to an April 2009 domestic violence incident but considering his health problems it was reasonably delayed.

In 2005, he came to Utah to star in the movie “Church Ball,” a comedy based on basketball leagues formed by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He met Shannon Price, now his wife, on the movie set and the couple were wed in 2007.
