Every year, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association looks for a girl to be Ms. Golden Globe who will hand out the trophies to the winners on film and TV, with the tradition that the girl must be a daughter of a well-known celebrity that is connected to the awards event. For 2011, the HFPA has picked their girl.

Gia Mantegna, daughter of Globe nominee Joe Mantegna from The Godfather Part III, was chosen to be Ms. Golden Globe 2011. The 20-year-old teens star was picked by the board of directors and they are thrilled to have her because she is talented and beautiful and would be a great addition to the show, according to HFPA president, Philip Berk.

The teen star, which was also honored to be picked by the HFPA, has her acting resume full. She had her acting debut at the age of 13 by starring alongside her father in the 2003 film Uncle Nino and is currently starring in the TeenNick Tv series Gigantic. Gia has also been part of Warner Bros. Unaccompanied Minors and Criminal Minds. She is currently dating Hannah Montanah actor Mitchell Musso.

Gia is very honored and happy to be Ms. Golden Globe 2011 because she has grown up watching the Golden Globe with her family and “feel so fortunate to be part of such a magical evening, so early in my career”.

Her father had been in many movies such as The Godfather Part III, Forget Parts and Three Amigos. She already joins the list of other Ms. Golden Globe such as: Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore; Kevin Costner’s daughter Lily; and Melanie Griffith, daughter of Tippi Hedren.

The Golden Globe 2011 will be aired in NBC on January 16, 2011, live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel from 5PM to 8PM.
