Remember the series Hawaii Five – O on television during the 70’s? Apparently, there is revival of the series on CBS television with its premiere telecast yesterday night. Well, as all revived series from the past, this updated version is set on the present day.

The series which spanned from the dawn of the 60’s till the end of the 70’s is one of television history’s longest running detective series. It has been rerun so many times in the 80’s and 90’s that the theme song became popular among university marching bands in the field and the term “five – o”, which came from the series’ title, became the nickname for the police.

The present version of the detective series is composed of actors, Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park, Jean Smart, and Tarry Manning.

The detective series revolves around a team of police officers led by a former naval officer, Steve McGarrett, which is attached to a fictitious police department in the state of Hawaii (thus the term five-0, Hawaii being the fiftieth state of the U.S.). He supervises a group of specialist investigators as they solve crime, and battle against bad guys.

Although the initial reviews of the pilot episode of the series seems to be good, it will take a while before it can gain a huge audience and fan base with so many police detective series currently playing on right now.
