After almost eight long years of Court proceedings, Former NBA Star Jayson Williams found guilty by Somerville Court and was sentenced to put in jail for five years. Williams although admitted during his first trial that he accidentally shot his 55-year-old limousine driver Costas Christofi at his former Hunterdon County estate in 2002, was only sentenced yesterday.

Tanya Williams, his estranged wife admits to be disheartened by Court’s decision believing he is not indeed a bad man.  According to her, she feels numb because their kids didn’t even know yet the verdict against her former husband.

On the Contrary, Andrea Adams, Christofi’s sister said in a letter during hearing, that Williams didn’t fit the crime, it has been eight years of agony for the family victims watching Jayson Williams prance around and live his life and acting like nothing happened.

And worse, Jayson has not shown any sign of remorse.

After reading the final sentence, Williams apologized to his family, while sis supporters were crying. He asked forgiveness to his family for the pain he caused to them. He uttered that his kids deserve a better father; his family deserves a better brother and son than he have been. William believes he’s not a bad man, but acted badly when he fatally shot his driver.

He’s looking towards working endlessly to improve himself and make positive contributions to society from now on.
