Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers | Football Update

The Kansas City Chiefs won recently over the San Diego Chargers, 21 to 14, in their first ever encounter this season in the National Football League (NFL). The game was held at the New Meadowsland Stadium amidst a heavy downpour of rain in Kansas City.

The first quarter started with a 7-0 charge from the San Diego offense. Chargers’ tight end, Antonio Gates, scored a touchdown for San Diego from a completed pass by quarterback, Philip Rivers (Point After Touchdown was good). The Chiefs countered with their running back, Jamaal Charles, who scored a touchdown on a running play (Point After Touchdown was good). The quarter ended at 7-7.

The Kansas City Chiefs had a very good second quarter. The Chiefs’ tight end, Tony Moeaki, scored his first ever touchdown as a professional football player by receiving a pass from quarterback, Matt Cassel (Point After Touchdown was good). Another touchdown was scored by the chargers from a punt return as the ball was fielded by the Chargers defense, this one coming from the Chiefs’ wide receiver, Dexter McCluster (Point After Touchdown was good). The ninety-four yard punt return made by McCluster, was one for the record book. It is the longest punt return in Kansas City Chiefs’ franchise history. This gave the Chiefs the lead in the score, 21-7, before going to halftime.

The second half started with a counteroffensive from the San Diego Chargers in the third quarter. The Chargers scored from a completed pass by Philip Rivers to Chargers’ wide receiver, Legedu Naanee for a touchdown (Point After Touchdown was good). The quarter ended with the Kansas City Chiefs’ still holding the lead at 21-14.

No team scored in the fourth quarter. The score tallied in the end of the game, was 21-14, in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs. The win was the team’s first this season.
