NFL player Kenny Mckinley is dead. The news spread like wildfire throughout the football community and sports blogs today. Apparently, the football star died in a tragic suicide inside his home in Arapahoe County in Denver last Monday. His body was found in his room on the second floor of his home covered by a pool of blood. A gunshot wound in the head was the cause of death according to the autopsy later made by the authorities. Still, the investigation continues for a possible foul play.

McKinley, 23, was a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos. He was picked in 2009 by Denver in the fifth round of the NFL Draft of that year. In his rookie season, he played for eight games for the team before he succumbed to an injury which sidelined him from the rest of the 2009 NFL season. The injury never healed before the start of the 2010 football season and Mckinley was relegated to the Broncos’ bench as an injured reserve.

The coaching staff of the Denver Broncos expressed grief and was saddened by his tragic death. A press conference is expected to be given by Coach Josh McDaniels, head coach of the Denver team, this Tuesday in light of what happened to the young football star.
