Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade 2009 Photos and Video

Behold… The 2009 Macy’s Annual Thanksgiving parade on Newyork! And lo,  it was a blast!

Humungous ballons, costumes, bands and funny clowns marched their way to the pavement along with colorful confettis that surely made the crowd smile! One of the tradition in this event is the unveiling of Turkey and Pumpkin Pie to the public, Well embrace by the people of New York.

People from all ages gathered in the streets of Manhattan yesterday, for the 83rd Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and boy did the people love those exhibitions performed! This US nationwide celebration is also famed in cities such as Detroit and Philadelphia wherein they held a joyous parade to celebrate the event also.

For New York, Miss America Katie Stam paved her way to the Statue of Liberty as she shared with Meb Keflezighi (First American in 11 years to win the NY Marathon)

And would the celebration be complete if you won’t have the parade of the most popular cartoon characters? Yep! Spongebob, Snoopie, Garfield, MickeyMouse McDonalds and the whole gang is there! Surely, the crowd  was all eyes on the adorable balloons marching on the streets. Kids and adults surely loved this event!

Eugene Peterson, 35, an unemployed construction worker from Detroit, said he had plenty to be thankful for.

“I’m thankful we have a president who understands we’re going through a hard time,” Peterson said. “I’m thankful they extended unemployment (benefits) because there ain’t no jobs around here. It’s kind of like government showing yeah, they care.”

Aboard Atlantis, astronauts expecting to give thanks with pantry leftovers were surprised by turkey dinners with candied yams, freeze-dried cornbread stuffing and green beans – just add water. NASA suspected the station’s new skipper was responsible for the Thanksgiving feast.

Obama enjoyed a quiet holiday at the White House with his family and telephoned 10 members of the U.S. military stationed in war zones to thank them for their service.

I guess if all people will always have this kind-spirit everyday, surely this world will be a better place to live in. Agree?
