Miss Universe 2010 is Miss Mexico!

Miss Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2010 during the pageant night held in Las Vegas, August 23, 2010. The 22-year-old Miss Jimena Navarrete impressed the judges in the question and answer portion winning the crown of Miss Universe 2010.

Celebrity Apprentice winner Bret Michaels and Today co-host Natalie Morales hosted the pageant. Cirque du Soleil musicians played Elvis Presley songs while the 15 semi-finalists posed in their swimsuits. John Legend and the Roots played medley while the top 10 finalists walked in their evening gowns.

Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete gracefully faced the crowd in her one-strap red evening gown. During the question and answer portion, she was asked on how she felt about the unsupervised internet use today. Impressing the judges, she said with an interpreter that internet nowadays is an “indispensable and necessary tool today.” With it used by kids and teenagers, parents should see to it that values are taught to their children and manifested even when they use the internet.

Navarrete won a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy, a luxury New York apartment with living expenses, diamonds and jewelleries, a set of gowns, a set of swim suits and a package of glittering shoes.

Miss Jamaica is in 2nd place, followed by Miss Australia in 3rd place, Miss Ukraine in 4th place and Miss Philippines in 5th place.
