Peter Lik is a self-taught Australian photographer who photographs landscapes since he was young. At 8 years old, the art found him when he was given a Browning camera as a birthday gift. In 1994, he took a liking for experimenting with his panoramic cameras. Known for his limited editions, he is said to have sold $150 million worth of his photographs which are limited editions for collectors.

Born to Czech immigrant parents, he is now 50 years old and still doing the trade where he is evidently good for many years. He has published books to his name which included his exploits in the Australian outback, Las Vegas, America, Maui and Hawaii.

He is a self-acclaimed nature lover who started his business at his early twenties by selling his photographs to companies which directly use them as decorations on their walls or rooms. His first gallery was located in his hometown in Cairns, Australia which was immediately followed in places like Port Douglas, Queensland, Noosa, Hawaii, La Jolla, Key West & Miami in Florida, New York City and Las Vegas.

He is also known to be an advocate in the cure for Juvenile Diabetes when he gave his proceeds of the auction sale in the 2010 Hope Gala “Imagine,” with his photograph entitled “Stone Temple” sold for $4,500.
