Although they won their game against the San Francisco 49ers, the New Orleans’ Saints did not celebrate. Reggie Bush, their erstwhile do-it-all player was injured. The incident was a severe blow for the team since Bush can handle multi positions (wide receiver, full back, tail back and punter) in both the offensive and defensive end for the New Orleans’ Saints.

The injury came in the fourth quarter of the match last night as he was to return a punt on the offensive end. The football star hobbled for a few steps as he was about to run then collapsed on the field. As the referee sorted out the pile made by the defense on the still lying Bush, he rose up limping and sought help from teammates who carried him off the field.

The seriousness of the injury is still unconfirmed. But, initial reports said that the injury will sideline Bush till the second half of the season.

Reggie Bush, 25, was drafted by the New Orleans Saints as the second overall pick in the first round in the 2006 NFL Draft. He became a starter for the Saints for three seasons and led the team to its first Super Bowl which New Orleans eventually won against the Indianapolis Colts in February, 7, 2010.

Fans are hoping that the football superstar’s injury will not severely impact how he plays in the future.
