Robert Schimmel Passed Away

After an accident that happened to him in a freeway last Thursday in Arizona which lists him in a very serious condition stand-up comedian Robert Schimmel has passed away due to complications he suffered from his injuries.

Schimmel, 60, died of multiple injuries suffered when her daughter who was driving, swerved to avoid a collision wherein the car then turned over on to the side of the freeway.

Schimmel who was in the passenger seat was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with her daughter and his son who was on the backseat. His daughter was later listed in stable condition and Schimmel’s son was released from the hospital unharmed.

Best known for his sleazy comedy and his appearances on the Howard Stern Show, his works include a series of comedic albums. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in June 2000, intense treatment made the cancer go into remission, and in 2008 he published a book about his battle with it entitled, Cancer on Five Dollars a Day* (*chemo not included): How Humor Got Me Through the Toughest Journey of My Life.

Word of his death spread like wildfire via Twitter and Robert’s brother Jeff made a memorial for him in Facebook, affirming his death. Robert Schimmel will be missed. His demise makes the world one less comedian to make it laugh.
