Netherland’s flag bearer in Skating Sven Kramer is disqualified and loses the very chance of winning gold medal at the Winter Olympics in the 10,000 meters event on Tuesday.

Rapid skater Kramer loses gold medal is expected to be the talk of the town of his very own country and of course in the Olympics.  He previously won the 5,000m speed skating event last weekend but he committed a costly mistake in his latest race.

Kramer was able to finish first in the men’s 10,000 meter speed skating race on Tuesday in Vancouver, BC. But later he realized he had been skating in the wrong lane for the final eight laps of the total 25.  His very mistakes gave way for the Korean’s pride Lee Seung-hoon brings home the gold.

Kramer was then disappointed so much because the realization of his error came so late. He loses his supposedly second gold medal of the winter games. Bob de Jong, Kramer’s teammate landed into the third spot, taking home the bronze for the Netherlands.

Prior to the disqualification issue, Kramer already encountered controversy in the Olympics. Earlier after his 5,000m win, American reporter asked him identify himself and the color of his medal, but Kramer responded by asking the reporter if she was stupid. After his loss, the Press took their sweet revenge asking the same question “Who is stupid?”
