In a serious rundown on television shows, the new series on television titled The Event only had a pilot episode that rolled only for forty five minutes. The producers of the series are confident that  in such a very short pilot episode they can garner a fan base. It can be a tactic to keep the audience’s interest high for the succeeding episodes. If this is correct then we should see the results in the weeks to come.

The series was created by Nick Wauters for NBC.

In any case, The Event is tagged to be the successor of the now defunct television series Lost. The same aura of mystery, same thrill, and so on.

The series stars Jason Ritter, Sarah Roemer, Laura Innes, Ian Anthony Dale, Scott Patterson, Clifton Collins Jr., Taylor Cole, Lisa Vidal, Bill Smitrovich, Zeljko Ivanek and Blair Underwood.

The series tells the story of a person who searches for his girlfriend after her mysterious disappearance in a cruise ship and through his searches, will unwittingly uncover a plot which culminates in the assassination of a president.

It seems the use of flashbacks in telling the story is going to be used to develop the characters in the story. As in the pilot episode, there was abundance of flashbacks to set the foundation for the next episode of the series.
