Tomb Raider returns to the big screen with a different twist, a new origin story, new producers, and a new cast. Set to be released in 2013, the movie will be a retold story of a young Lara Croft and how her adventures began.
Graham King and GK Films bought the rights of the Tomb Raider franchise and they are still currently looking to hire a writer for this film. But no worries, they have already secured the film rights and they are wasting no time to get this movie going.
Tim Headington, the executive producer of Rango and The Tourist, will co-produce the first of the series, with Graham King.
Unfortunately, Angelina Jolie will no longer be part of this remake. A new actress has to fill the big shoes Angelina left, well and bra, for that matter. But since the first of the Tomb Raider series is about the young Lara Croft, it might be a teenage starlet.
Tomb Raider will be returning to the big screen in 2013 with a makeover, new origin story, and some lucky lady replacing Angelina Jolie.
There is no title yet, but for sure this will be a box office hit, just like Tomb Raider 1 and 2. Trailers are to appear mid 2012.
