UFC Fight Night 22 aired on SPIKE TV. It was a huge night for mixed martial arts fighters Cole Miller, Charles Oliveira and Nate Marquardt. All three men took a step up in respective weight class.

The night started with two fighters that looked like they were ready to rumble. In the fight between Ross Pearson vs. Cole Miller, it was apparent early on that Miller had a sizable reach advantage over Pearson. Pearson got rocked by a tremendous punch. During the second round, Miller again lands a heavy punch that stuns Pearson and causes him to wobble. Miller went in for the kill, finishing the fight by rear naked choke.

The nights main event was a battle between the Middleweights. Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares both entered the octagon quite cautious. It was as if they were trying to feel each other out. After a brief scramble, Palhares was able to get the fight to the ground and managed to get into the north-south position.

Palhares attempted a leg lock, which he is known for, but Nate was able to pull out of it. In a weird twist, Palhares was signaling to his corner that Nate’s legs had been greased. Busy accusing Marquardt, Palhares gets hit with a big right hand that shocks him. Nate doesn’t stop. Marquardt keeps piling on the punches until the fight was stopped by the referee.

UFC President, Dana White tweeted after the fight that Nate and his legs were checked by the commission and his legs were not greased.
